M.Hum Sociolinguistics has many aspects that can be used as a research. One of the aspects is slang words. Slang words are a word or some words that used only by some people in a population. Learning slang words can enrich our vocabulary. This thesis mainly discusses about slang words that spoken by main character of the movie ?Harry Potter and The Half Blood Prince?. The objects of the analyses are utterances of the main character that is harry potter that containing slang words in the movie ?harry potter and half blood prince. The utterances that contain slang words are taken as data. The purposes of this research is to analyze the main character?s slang words used in the movie ?Harry Potter and The Half Blood Prince?,and to classify and find the meaning of the slang words used in the movie ?Harry Potter and The Half Blood Prince?. After conducting this research the researcher found that there are 19 slang words by Harry Potter and the most dominant can be classified into compound slang words, slang words that spoken by harry potter also dominate by denotative meaning.
